Larry Thomas Walthour II, B.BS, M.M, D.Min, D.D

Dr. Larry Thomas Walthour II travels extensively across the continental United States and abroad for his preaching expository and expertise in the areas of teaching, training, Biblical studies, systematic theology, Christian discipleship, ethics, church staff development, exegesis, ecclesiology, historical theology, apologetics, evangelism, youth mentoring and development, public speaking, critical thinking, religion, community organization and outreach, pastoral theology and care, social justice, hermeneutics, homiletics, practical theology, liturgy, leadership and program development, and Christian psychology and counseling.

Dr. Walthour is a certified instructor for the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. and has been a published columnist for the Broward Times Newspaper and Total Eclipse Magazine.

Dr. Walthour studied Business Administration and Management at Florida Memorial College and holds a Bachelor of Biblical Studies Degree from Revelation Message Bible College; a Master and Doctor of Ministry Degree from Jacksonville Theological Seminary; an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from St. Thomas Christian University; and is preparing for doctorate studies towards a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and Psychology from Colorado Theological Seminary.

Dr. Walthour received his ministry training at the Central Missionary Baptist Church in West Park, Florida under Dr. Jacob McCrea. In 1990, he became a member of the St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida under Rev. James C. Ferguson, Jr. and after his passing in 1995, has served as Senior Pastor-Teacher. He is highly sought as an educator, lecturer, tutor, and curriculum development specialist for his insight in the areas of theology, church ministry, administration, management, leadership, and Christian Education. Dr. Walthour serves as a Board Member for the Florida General Baptist State Convention and has served as the Assistant Director General, Assistant Dean, Dean, and Vice-President at Large for the Florida General Baptist State Congress of Christian Education. He has also served as the First Vice-Moderator for the Atlantic Coast Baptist Association; Bible Expositor for the Atlantic Baptist Association Ministers’ and Deacons’ Union; and Director of Congress Affairs, Dean, and President for the Atlantic Coast Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education.

Dr. Walthour is a 2006 Strathmore’s National Who’s Who in Religion inductee and has received numerous awards, commendations, and proclamations. He is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and is the Founder/President of HOTEP, Inc. Dr. Walthour is a Miami-Dade and Broward County marriage counselling provider, a Police Chaplain for the City of Opa-locka, and a member of various community boards.

Dr. Walthour was born in San Diego, California to Mr. Larry Thomas Walthour Sr. and Ms. Ora Lee Walthour. He is engaged to Ms. Michelle Innocent and is the father of Ms. Lachelle A. Walthour.
